Marcus Construction's Internship Program

Participating in an internship at Marcus Construction provides an opportunity to put your knowledge and skills to work, build professional relationships, and develop a broad understanding of sales, design & drafting, estimating, construction project management, field supervision, and safety. Interns will gain experience in:

  • Assisting sales staff in preparing proposals and contracts
  • Reviewing shop drawings and submittals
  • Preparing accurate and timely cost estimates
  • Soliciting subcontractor and supplier bids
  • Organizing and distributing bid documents
  • Developing and maintaining subcontractor and supplier relations
  • Assisting staff with contract administration
  • Assisting staff tracking and controlling construction schedule and project costs
  • Attending project management meetings
  • Assisting project management and field superintendents coordinate subcontractors
  • Assisting the safety manager with site visits


Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor’s of Science degree program in Construction Management, Engineering, Agriculture or Business Administration from an accredited college or University
  • Have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in construction management or related field
  • Have at least one summer of construction work experience
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other job-relevant software (AutoCAD, REVIT, Procore, Primavera P6 and Constructware preferred)
  • Possess excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience
  • Strong GPA
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated, self-starter


Interns will receive an hourly rate of pay and work with a team mentor.
